Kfz-Sachverständigenbüro Heinrich Hehr

Classic & modern-classic car valuation

The details matter in a collector’s vehicle. Condition, originality, restoration work and a documented history contribute to a meaningful assessment.

Which value do you need?

Insurance, buying, selling and collection records can require different kinds of valuation. Market value and replacement value address different questions and should not simply be treated as identical.

If the report is for insurance, provide the insurer’s requirements first. Heinrich Hehr is a classic-analytics partner. We agree the appropriate type and scope of appraisal for the individual vehicle.

Document the vehicle’s history

Invoices, restoration photographs and earlier appraisals help explain the vehicle’s development, particularly where completed work is no longer directly accessible.

Money spent on restoration does not automatically translate into the same market value. Age-related wear also needs to be considered in context. The assessment concerns the vehicle as a whole at the agreed date.

On-site visits and updated valuations

Inspections in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg region can be arranged at a suitable location. If you have several vehicles, tell us the models, number and storage location so we can coordinate the visit.

Major restoration work, modifications or the passage of time may justify an updated valuation. A value report does not replace a roadworthiness inspection or the separate assessment for a German historic registration plate.

Frequently asked questions

Does a valuation qualify the car for an H registration plate?

No. A value report and the assessment for German historic registration serve different purposes.

Do you also assess modern classics?

Yes. Younger collector vehicles can also be assessed according to their condition, equipment, history and the agreed valuation purpose.

Should an older valuation be updated?

An update may be useful after major changes or where the insurer’s requirements have changed. We discuss the appropriate scope using the available records.

This information is general guidance. Scope, fee and timing are agreed individually. Legal and insurance questions require consideration of the individual case.
